Hi All,

When I was a student in 2007 my parents appeared for visa in Chenaai. That time they sponsered themselves but as I was not having any summer job the VO said it would be difficult for me. Now I am working and I can sponsor my parents. They are residents of andhra pradesh. As now the Hyderabad has consulate can they appear for the visa in Hyderabad na dhow much bank balance they should show. I am the only daughter and I am in USA will that be a problem. But my mom is a govt employee.

Please let me know as soon as possible. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes they can appear in HYD us consulate.
There are no official guidelines or limit for bank balance any thing over $5K is good..
I dont see any problem, since your mom is working, it is even better since people have better chance to get visa. Make sure your mom carry a NOC eom her office since she is a Govt employee.

Will it be enough if my parents take a statement of bank balance for 5 lakhs from their account in India. they have a joint account. Is one statement will be enough or do they have to take two statements. I heard that for one of the parents it should be enough if they get statement for 5lakhs. My question is because they both are appearing for visa interview do they have to show 10lakhs.

For your kind information, the VO looks for their ties in their home country and the visitors will go back to home country after their visit to USA is over. They can show Rs 5 Lakhs in their joint account. Ask them to carry property documents if any and if their parents alive and stay with them, then, let them take a family album to show to VO. I am stressing on this point since you have mentioned that you are their only daughter. Don't get discouraged because you are their only daughter and is in USA.
I got the visa in the first attempt though I have my only son in USA and VO did ask my wife about this before issuing the visa.
