I am planning for my parents to have visa interview sometime next month or so in New Delhi. My father can speak ok kind of english but my mother can not. But My father is not exposed to american acccent or very fluent english.
1) Do u suggest that we should have a translator?
My further questions are:
2) Do we have to pay additional for a translator?
3) Do we have to request thru VFS for a translator?
4) How much time does it take to get a translator?

Yes, I think it would be a very good idea to get a translator for your parents. You can request an interview in Hindi when you book their appointment( there is an option to choose language). It does not cost extra but often times there maybe fewer slots for non-english interviews...which would increase the time your parents would have to wait to get an appointment.

However, it might be well worth it to wait that extra time rather than sending them for an english interview they might not be comfortable giving.
