I have the old H1 visa.

On the I-94 visa, you can check your name, visa type ( H1B or H4) and expiration date on I-94 (which should be same as visa expiration date)

Hi,
Good to know that you are back in there with your old stamp that might possibly expire on sep 30th 2009.

Could you please post what exactly happened at the POE ?...
Where is the POE ?..
What did the CBP office ask you ?...
Did he ask why didnt u go for stamping since the old one expires in like 3 months ?...
Did you travel with ur parents/wife or u alone ?.

Please post your answers...
Thanks !

It is immigration which you have to go to after you get down from the plane.

What did the CBP office ask you ?...

He just asked me what is the purpose. I said Work

He saw my visa and then asked me is XXX your company? I said Yes

He took my finger print and then gave me I-94 on my passport

If you have unexpired visa, then there is no need to go for stamping, unless you have changed your employer.

Also do not travel, if you have applied for H1 extension.

Did you travel with ur parents/wife or u alone ?. with wife. She too got I-94 with H-4 status

Thanks for ur answers....
I don't know which part of my question "where is the Port of Entry(POE)" made u think if I am asking for POE definition.....

Well, if the question is still not clear for you.....I meant where exactly u landed ?....like Chicago, JFK, Dallas etc ?...hope this helps....

Thank you so much !
