My H1B visa expires on Sept 30, 2009. What is the right time to apply? My employer asked me to apply for H1B extension now. What are the documents to send? Do we need end-client letter for duration? but client wont be ready to write a letter for 1 or 2 years of project specifying duration of project. Anybody received H1b extension without client letter?

What is the fees for H1B extension? Is there any risk on applying in premium processing? What is fees for premium processing? Please advice me I should go with normal processing or premium processing? In which case chances of getting RFE are more?

Regards
sachi

The process should be taken care by your employer not by you. I wonder why you were asked to apply. Your employer knows the business needs better than you and decide which way to apply i.e. Premium or normal processing. If would be better for you to meet with the company's attorney who can advise you on all aspects of applying for extension. The fee for this process should be around 2300 (1000 more for premium processing). In current situation, without any client letter confirming the job existence, RFE is inevitable for most cases regardless of the process type.
