Hi,

My mother is here on visitor's visa and her 6 month duration of stay will end in about 7 weeks. She has a 10 yr visa and this is her second visit to the US. We are considering extending her stay for one more month, but would like to know if this could have any effect on her future visits (in terms of Duration of stay allowed), especially since she might visit as early as next year again. Also, is it common for extensions to be rejected? If so, how does that effect her visitor visa. Would appreciate your advice.

thanks,
PA

There is no absilutle written rule or anser for this. There may or may not.
Onbe thing is sure that extension on visitor visa is not considered good , and consulate go get the record for this in thier system.
