Hi,

My parents-in-law have their visitor visa interview by the end of this month. They plan to make an affidavit about the fixed and the liquid assets they have. (Off course, they will carry all the original papers for the same). Is it okay if all the assets are mentioned in Rs. Lakhs ? Or should they change it to Rs Thousands ?

When they went to get the visa appointment at the Visa Facilitation Center, they submitted DS156 forms and the fees and were given a receipt-cum-appointment letter. The letter mentions that the US Consulate does not entertain property agreement copies and CA certification copies. If that is so, what documents should be taken to prove ownership of the property. They plan to take property tax papers, society fees receipts, governement evaluator's certificate, electricity bill etc. Any suggestions ?

thanks,
swagho

Thanks Murali!!!

About the affidavit property figures; should they be in Rs. Lakhs or in Rs. Thousands ?

I read somewhere that the consulate people may not understand Lakhs and Crores etc.

thanks,
