Hello Murali,,


My parents have got an appointment in December.I have a querry in DS-156 form
My father is working in a Central Government Job, he has got leave sanctioned for 3months, he is planning to extend for an another month after coming here, How many months do we need to specify in DS-156 form.
If in the interview if they ask to show the leave certificate it has been sanctioned for three months..can they specify 4 months in DS-156 form. If they ask why it shows 3 months in the leave letter and 4 months in the DS-156 form, can they say they are intending to extend for a month, Will it create any problem,,,

Expecting ur reply as early as possible.

It could create a problem. I know of person who had disparity in his sanctioned leave and the number of months he intended to stay in US. It was one one the reasons for rejection.

Yes, it may be point for consulate to cross question. To avoid this try to maintain the dame time lines, this should not hurt becauce of the fact that a person can still get 10yrs visa.
