My Birth Certificate required for Visting Parents??

Hi,
Need help here.
My parents are planning to file visitor visa in India.
Since i will be the sponsor i need to the dcouments to them
i was going through the list of docs mentioned in path2usa and its really extensive. Are so many docs required for Visitor visa?
It also says, they will need to show my Birth Certificate at interview?
Is it required?

because my Birth Certificate is with me here in US & i dont want to fedex that at the risk of loosing it.

Is my birth certificate really required ? As my parents dont have it? Will consultate will not agree with my passport copies or PAN card ? My parents have interview 2moro early morning at mumbai consulate and they dont have my birth certificate? What to do? Pls let me know ASAP...thnx a lot in advance
