Hi,
I am returning back to India soon as my L1 has expired and the extension was denied. The whole experience has left me wanting to be independent of employer-based visas.
I have received a handsome offer from a US company to train their engineers in a specific skill (in which I have advanced knowledge). My intention is to return to India, and then travel to the USA on a personal B1 visa to train the US employees of this company and then return. I already have a blanket B1/B2 10-year multiple entry non-annotated visa.
Is this something that would be feasible? I know the B1 can be used for knowledge transfer, etc., so the question would be how would the US company pay me the training fees in India as they would not be allowed to pay me a salary in the USA when I am on a B1.
Would I need to start my own company or can the US company just send me a cheque in India for the contracted amount (based on hours of training plus travel, accommodation, etc. charges)?
Also, is the IO likely to question the fact that I am returning on B1 when I just left on account of L1 extension being denied?
Thanks and regards,
Jagan.
