Hello Sir,

Please guide me related to Question No 37 of DS-156.

My parents got rejected under Sec 214b.
Is it necessary to reapply within three days of the Interview date when they got rejected?
If so will they get dates in November or December start?

What is the procedure of re-applying and how much amount they have to pay again in the 2nd attempt?
Can i book online for them when they are re-applying? Or is there any special procedure for the same?

Tahnking you.

They can apply any time after 3days of refusal and as many times as they want.
since re-applying is like a new application they are liable to pay whole fee again.
There is no specifci produe the procedure is same as new application procedure. and you can book online or offline whatveer is good for you.

The process to reapply is pretty much the same - u have to take a new appointment at the dates that are available - please check the faq section on vfs website.
U can reapply with valid dds that were returned to you.

Q 37 - u must mark who all are in the US (related to the applicant)

In ur case it wld be SON/DAUGHTER - YES
NO for everything else unless ur parents have other relatives in the USA.

I had marked YES for son/daughter - (crossed out DAUGHTER) and No for everything else. Next to the box - i had mentioned WORKING (on H1B Visa). Had no issues with this.

For more info on 214(b) please see travel.state.gov website.

To find out what dates are available on vfs, please click on the online appt link - enter some dummy info in the 4 fields and u wld see the dates.
you may contact vfs if u need an earlier date - they might be able to help.
