My parents visitior visa got rejected under sec 214b
at the chennai consulate on Nov 8th.
My father is retired and enjoys his retired life in chennai living in
his own home, mom a housewife both are 60+years old. I am their only
child, living in US with my husband for past 3 yrs and I want them to
visit me and see places in US with me. Please let me know your
experience and if reapplying would help, what more evidence can i
show to prove they would go back after 3mths.

Hi,
My parents visa was also rejected in the first attempt under the section 214(b).They reapplied within 3 days and got visa in the 2nd attempt. For the 2nd attempt,me and my husband prepared a letter highlighting the points bcoz of which my paretns were bound to return back to India such as property, relatives and an unmarried son.We had told our parents to show the letter to the counseler immediately incase the counseler asks ehat is different this time?
We also told our parents to verbally communicate the reasons which do not make them candidates for potential immigrants.
This time my parents opted for a marathi translator. My parents also took help from an agent this time and this agent provided fantastic conunselling to my parents which boosted their confidence.I have posted the actual questions that were asked to my parents in the experience section of this website...u can go thr' it.
So I would suggest that, go ahead and take that second chance.
