Can I know how is the Java job market in US now a days ? What skills are in demand ? Which companies are still recrutinging ?

The job market is BAD for all skill sets. Even universities have hiring freezes for PhDs in hot areas. Microsoft is rumored to be laying off thousands. Google is not opening new server farms.
