Hi,
My wife has a three years bachelor's degree (equivalent to 3 years of university-level credit in zoology, botany and geology from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States) and she has done one year Montessori Teacher's training course in USA. Is she eligible for applying H1B as a Teacher?
Thanks for your help!

First thing you have to approach the Board of education and find out the rules and regulation to become a teacher.
Second issue- You have to do credential evaluation with any authorized evaluation agency for your wife's academic qualification plus if she has a work experience as a teacher for H-1B specialty occupation.
Credential evaluation for further education will be different from the credential evaluation for H-1b specialty occupation.
Note: This is not a legal advice, please consult an attorney

In the US elementary and secondary teachers in public schools and some private schools require licensure. The requirements include education in methods and the learning process. It is unlikely that she could qualify for this type of program.
If she has Montessori training and certification, it would be possible for her to work in that limited environment if she is able to find an employer. Be sure that she has the full qualifications for Montessori education in the US.

Hello Senior member, Thanks for your response. Right now she is doing Montessori teacher's training from American Montessori Society http://www.amshq.org/. Could she apply for H1B once she completes it?

I do not know how USCIS views Montessori training in terms of university credit. She should ask the adminstration of her training program what their experience has been and the best organization to conduct the educational evaluation to present in support of the H1B visa.
My experience with Montessori was so many years ago that I do not recall anything other than there were very few qualified teachers at the time for the schools wanting to add classes. The training institute should have the best information on employment opportunities and requirements (Background checks, etc.)

Can anyone point to attorneys who have dealt with H1 visas for montessori teachers?
Are there any other work visas for montessori teachers?
My wife has a BSC equivalent to 3 years of university-level credit in zoology, botany and geology from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States and I am trying to find out if she can get a work visa in USA as a montessori teacher.
If you were working while doing BSC graduation in india, would those years worked in parallel with BSC count as experience or only the amount of time worked after BSC count in experience?
Also if one started doing a 2 year PGDiploma but only completed one year, can that one year add up to make a total of 4 years needed for H1B?
