Hi,
I am on F-1 and I am applying for my parents Visa for my graduation ceremony. Can anyone pls let me know what are the documents my parents need to carry to the consulate?
Right now we have International Student Affairs office's invitation letters, DS-156 & DS-157. Any documents to carry other than these?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Also carry the property documents and other stuff which will show their ties back in India. This will make the VO easy to decide that they will ome back after the visit.
All the best

They need to carry proof that they can pay for their expenses unless you plan to do so and then you must prove that you have sufficient funds.
Search the archives of the forums for more detailed information as this has been discussed repeatedly.

in April 2005, I attended the visa interview on self sponsor basis for the graduation of my son. I only got an invite from him to attend the graduation. I carried property documents, balance sheet, bank deposits,PPF savings, photocopy of my son's passport etc.
The VO did not see any document but asked me 3 questions on my business and the date of birth of my son and one final question to my wife- "how many children you have mam?" She immediately said that he is the only child. We got the visas.
Two things the VO look in before giving a visa.
How confident are you in answering?
Will you come back after your visit to USA. That is your ties in your home country.

If the VO thinks that she is an immigrant candidate, then, she will not get the visa. We can not predict what questions will be asked to her. As cncd1 suggested, the best thing you can do is to go through the experiences of others posted in this forum and prepare her accordingly for the interview.
By the way, is she also attending the interview along with your parents?
