HI,
I am on H1B visa at US, my parents got visitor visa. I am planning to bring them here by the end of this month (october 2008). my H1B visa valid until march 2009 (processing extension now) my question is;
1. when my parents come to immigration at port of entry, will they given I-94 untill my current H1B validity only (by checking visa officer my visa) or will they be given for extended date also.
2. if my extension is done before they come, can they show any relevent H1B extension document to immig. officer and get I-94 for 6months or so.

Thanks in advance. if relevant info posted here else, please give me the link.

thanks, sudhakar

Your parents are being granted entry based on their credentials and plans; they used your H1B papers only to obtain the visa. They do not need your papers for entry; your papers are only important for your and your H4 dependents entry.

It is likely that they will receive a 6 month stay. Shortened stays are generally given when someone has only recently left the US after an extended visit and is trying to re-enter. Don't worry. Since this is their first visit, everything should go smoothly; they will be nervous but that is to be expected. The best advice is to be sure they have addresses and phone numbers handy.

Adding to what cncd1 said, even if they are given 6 months stay in their I94, I would suggest, they leave USA in 4 months time and come again after spending 6 or more months in their home country. This will facilitate smooth entry next time and they can spend 6 months with you.
Mostly the following questions are asked at POE.
1. Why do you come to USA?
2. With whom will you be staying in USA?
3. How many months you want to stay in USA?
