Query about the Tax:urgent

Hi

I am in USA from last 9 months.My family is in India.Somebody told me that If I call my family in USA before January I will get some Tax exemption.

The other thing is that I filing W2 form,that is I am showing that I am single and I am paying the same tax from last seven months on my salary.My question is even my family is in India , can I show my status married. In case I can how I can I get money back which is I am paying extra from last seven months paychecks.

What are documents are required for these kindly let me know.

If your spouse has been working in home country, that must be considered. When you file taxes, you will need to apply for ITIN numbers.

You will get a refund about 2 months after you file your taxes. You will need to file a new W-4 form showing your actual family composition.
