Visa Extension

Hi

My parents are visiting us from India on visitor visa. The entry visa they got is valid until Nov 7th. I'm (their son) is getting married end of November. What's the best thing to do:

1) File for a visa extension to attend the wedding and then leave for India. What is the extension process, how long does it take to get a response from the immigration office, is there any risk involved?
OR
2) Go back to India and come back with a new entry visa.
Kindly advise ASAP. I would appreciate a prompt response.

Are you mentioming the validity date of their Visitor visa as Nov 7th? Where is their son getting married? In USA or in their home country?
I can answer when you respond to my queries.

Their visitor visa is valid for another 5 year. Their entry visa to the usa is valid until Nov 7th. Their son is getting married end of Nov in USA. My question is: is it better to file for an extension to stay in the USA and attend the wedding OR go back to India and come again end of nov? Is it risky if they apply to expension, what if they don;t get a response in a short time etc. from immigration office ..'

Move the wedding earlier. They should have planned better so that their initial entry made it possible for them to attend the wedding.

You have stated that their entry visa to the USA is valid until Nov 7th. I presume that they are already in USA and the date Nov 7, is given in I94 at POE. In that case, you can apply for an extension now. Please read from this web site how to apply for extension and act accordingly. I would advice that they leave immediately USA after the marriage as their extension will not be granted because attending a marriage is not a good reason for an extension as it not a life and death issue in the eyes of the authorities.
As soon as they leave USA, they have to preserve the boarding passes, air line tickets and the copy of extension application with them and bring along with them when they visit USA next because they will be questioned by IO at POE
I will be criticized for suggesting this by some in this forum, but I do not see any other reason to suggest to you.
