Buying property in US when on H1B and your GC processing is on..

Hi,
Is it possible for anyone to buy property in US when staying there on H1B and when the GC processing is going on? Is buying property through loans in the US related to a particular stage of GC processing? Is it so that banks will issue loans only when the GC processing has reached a particular stage?

Please let me know the above, if you have any info on the same.

You can buy property on H1. Some banks have restrictions on how much they will lend to non-permanent aliens (H1 B falls in this category) and some may not lend at all but there is no law or anything against owning property on H1.
