Hello,
I am in US on work permit and will be sponsoring my parents for a visitor visa to US. My cousin sister who is a permanent resident wants me to sponsor her younger sister alongwith my parents. That is, she wants me to include her sister's name alongwith my parents in the invitation letter. She is unable to sponsor her sister as she doesnt have the requisite financial statements to show that she can support her. By putting her name alongwith my parents in the invitation letter she says that it will sound like a family trip and her visa will have less chances of being rejected. My cousin sister will stay with her sister, not with me.
With this background I have the following questions:
1) Is it correct for me to sponsor her sister even though she is legal permanent resident in US? Will the visa officer smell somthing fishy?
2) Will co-sponsoring my cousin alongwith my parents in the invitation letter in any way jeopardise my parents chances of getting the visitor visa? That is, in the scenario where my cousin's visa gets rejected could it also result in rejection of my parents visa since they will all be applying for it together?
3) Is it necessary for all the vistors in the invitation letter to go for the interview together, cant they schedule their interviews at different times?
4) If my cousin's visa request is rejected, would it in any way show up in my records?
Thanks,
Ashish
