My mother-in-law has a 10-year multiple entry tourist visa. She came last october and is planning to come back in July. Due to family circumstances she is planning to go back in Sep and come back in end of December for my wife's delivery.

Will this be a problem at the port of entry?? Is it a problem to come twices within 6 months gap? Please help ?

You did not mention when your mother in law went back when she came here last Oct. If she had stayed here for 6 months and left in April 2008 and again if she is re-entering in July 2008 (within 4 months) then the IO at POE will have suspicision that she is using her vistor visa to live here and may allow only short duration (typically one month with No Extension of Stay)

It all depends on the IO at POE on case by case basis

Since your mother in law is coming here after 6 months, her entry in July may not be a problem. But there may be problems when she arrives here in Dec. At that point she is coming here within 3~4 months which might raise suspicion at POE.

It is very difficult to predict the outcome.
