Regarding Place of Birth in DS -156 (person borh in Undivided India)

Hi Team,

I have a quick question with respect to form DS-156.

Background: My father is born in Karachi, Undivided India(1946) and my mother is born in Hydrabad, sindh, Undivided India(1947). The same is replicated in passport. The passport place of birth for my parents is stated below:-

Father Place of Birth - Karachi, Undivided India
Mother Place of Birth - Hydrabad, sindh, Undivided India

In form DS - 156, we have filled City - Karachi , Country - India and State/Province - Maharashtra for my father. This data is not matching with the passport data.

Similarly for my mother, we have filled City - Hydrabad, Country - India and State/Province - Maharashtra.

Q1) Since the place of birth in DS -156 is not matching with the passport, can this visa form get rejected? Please suggest

Q2) Can you suggest how should we enter Place of birth(City/Country/State)? When we select India, there is dropdown for the current states. And there is no option as Undivided India in the country dropdown. Please suggest.

I had called Mumbai consulate and they asked me to put karachi as City and Country as Pakistan(the current location of the city).

Hope this info help others.
