Hi:
This happens unfortunately to all whom they think they need to do some background tracking of their whereabouts etc.
For diffrent cat under 221g, check this site:
http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/refusals221g.html
Hope this gets some more clear picture for u... if not sorry about it!

When they issues a blue receipt, there should be a case number or batch it starting with 2008. You can check the status of your case from the following link.

Or you may send an email to chennai consulate.
Generally it takes about 45 business days for back ground processing.

Hi all,
Thank you for providing me the link. I have checked the link .... it was written PENDING PROCESS ..
Is there the consulate makes a difference of categorizing \ giving prefernces to B1/B2 apart from H1B,H4,L1,F1 .....
I dont find any reason in refusing my visa. As only two questions were put down to me. My Project, MyName.
It is neither H1 B nor F1 / L1. It is just an B1 visa for a period of 2 months and that too from a reputated MNC.
I wish this should not be happened to anybody like me ....
Only 1 question that bothers me ...is the TIME ??????????????

Ahmed

There is no way of knowing. Our friend received his visa 2 days AFTER he needed to be in the US for a conference which was specifically mentioned in the invitation. His requested stay was for 3 weeks.
