Dear Friends,
My father works as senior consultant with govt of India ( national organizations/groups etc)where he gets short term assignments/projects etc every now and then..in short he is busy atleast 50% of the year and travels all around the country..
Assignments could be week long, fortnight long or even for couple of days..
In the application form, he has written his occupation as senior consultant/arbitrator since we thought that he works/earns quite a bit in these assignments and writing retired doesnt make sense ( he retired as a govt officer in 2002)..
Now, one of the expected questions could be " do u have a no objection letter from your current employer"
Since he is not a regular full time employee with these govt organizations, he didnt ask for such a letter as there is no long term schedule given to him by these agencies ..
Though he does have a letter saying that he works for them...
What should he say if visa officer asks for a no objection certificate???
Please folks give ur suggestions as soon as possible..
Thanks

Murali

He can tell the truth that "He is not a full time employee but an independent consultant who work on short term assignments/projects.

Thanks for your reply Murali. What happened was that my father actually arranged the letter saying that his employer doesnt have any objection.
In any case, vo didnt ask for that letter during the interview.
I would take this opportunity to thank this site and it's many helpful members for their support and help.
This website helped us a lot. My parents got the US visa for 10 years ..after being rejected thrice in March 2002, Jan 2005, Feb 2005..
