My mother-in-law's visa appointment today went somewhat like this:
Visa Officer: Whom do you live with in Chennai?
MIL: I live by myself
VO: Do you have anyone for support here?
MIL: I have my brothers and sisters
VO: How many children do you have?
MIL: Only one daughter
VO: When did you daughter visit India last?
MIL: Dec '06
VO: Who is this (pointing to my name on the form)?
MIL: Son-in-Law
VO: Rejected
At this point, it is not clear why they rejected and how we can better our case. I was going to sponsor her trip. My mother had her visa interview 3 weeks back and she got her visa without any fuss.
Experienced folks please advise on future course of action.
Thanks very much in advance.
