Does being widower affect the result?

Hello All,

I have my father's visa intv on 18th Apr at Mumbai Consulate. He is a retired Govt servant, but has house here and doing small-time consultancy. But he was widowed 2 yrs back. Does that affect the outcome? As he does not have a wife now. I do have a elder brother staying close to him.

Please let me know if anyone has been in this situation and what is the expected outcome? What can I do to make his case strong?

As long as your father can show strong social and economic ties in India there will be no problem in getting a VISA.My mom had to travel to visit my sis in the US to assist her in delivery.My mom is a widow and a housewife.I live with her in India.As she told that she has a unmarried daughter to take care of(thats me) :) She was given a ten year multiple entry.
