i have got my H1B stamped on 18th of Jan,2008.......i would like to know if there is any specific time period within which we are supposed to arrive in US from the date of our visa stamping (i.e.) 3 or 6 months et al......

You can very well enter US after stamping provided your employer send a letter stating that the job is still available for you and you can join them on so and so date...(date on which you plan to reach US)

Make sure if you are delaying too much then you have a project letter stating that the project start date was either defered or you are assigned to a new project

I too got the stamping the same date and I traveled in March second week. I had a fresh offer letter from the employer but fortunately the officer did not ask me any questions since the gap was less. But the more delay in traveling, the more chance for raising questions. Better travel quickly.
Thanks

Check the job portals and see the available jobs for your skill sets.
www.dice.com
www.monster.com
Getting trained on some technologies and coming to US hoping to get job based on that training would be a big mistake. Getting a job in US depends on your experience level in your area of skill set and of course the market conditions.
Best of luck.

I Know few ppls struggling to get job, where they got 5+yrs exp in cognos. They are not getting projects for past 2 months and if at all something comes up the rate is too bad(as per information from them....) to join and duration is less than 3 months (which is not worth to relocate)
And better do some analysis on job sites and reconfirm with few ppl who works on same technology, then start to US. Best of luck
