I have applied for a second interview for my mother.I need some help with some of the questions i have
I have taken a visa one month after her first attempt,so do i need to send any new set of doocuments or is the prevoius set of documents good enough?
Her visa was rejected under 214(b).during the second interview will they ask her why her visa was rejected first time.should she say that she does not know the reason or tell 214(b).
From others experiences i read that they ask what's new this time?should we tell the reason as tourism as earlier or a different one.
is it possible i could get a earlier date by going in person to the tts office as i need my mother here urgently?
also can my father accompany my mother inside the consulate(chennai).he is a non-applicant.they say if father accompany's then there is a better chance of getting visa.
thanks

My mother was in similar situation. I didn't send any new documents but since the visa was rejected under 214(b), we did valuation of her and my father's property from a professional, prepared an affidavit listing all their properties. We also listed family obligations she has back in India. The officer did not see the affidavit though but we were prepared in case he had asked.
When she went for the interview, the first question was why was your visa rejected the first time. SHe said the reason given was 214(b) but we do have a lot of property worth XX lakhs in India and that she is coming here only to visit her daughter and for site seeing.
Then he asked few other small questions and her visa was approved.
They don't let anyone other than the interviewee to enter the embassy.

Hope this helps and all the best!
