Hi All,

We were in big dilemma of having a child in US or India and finally decided on delivering the child in India, though we will be travelling back in short time after the baby is born.

I am sure there are many who have gone through this situation and
Can someone share their experiences on the procedures of getting visa, right from getting birthcertificate ,passport and visa. How long did the entire procedure took ?

Please help on this .Thanks in advance.

Hi ... the process was very fast.

Birth certificate - took 24 hours - Rs. 100 extra
Passport - 10 days (no bribe, infants get passport in 10-days anyway - at least in Pune PP office)
Visa appointment - 7 days (no question of bribe, my company arranged for visa appt)

So, you would be in a position to travel with the baby by the time he or she is 3-4 months old (please wait at least till that time)
