Anybody faced this situation?
Facts:
original i-94 expiry date: March 10 2008
Applied for extension on : December 20th 2007
Supporting documentation sent: 2nd January 2008
Got the receipt notice on : 27th DECember 2007
applied for 6 months extension from March 10th 2008 to September 2008
Till now did not get any approval letter for the extension. So my question is, since I have the receipt number for the extension, can the visitor's stay past their Original I-94 Expiry date?
Tried talking to USCIS and asked the same question and the customer service representative provide me the border security forces number and asked me to talk to them and explain the case. Representative also told me that the approval takes a minimum of 4 to 6 months.
