While reading the contents of the webpage http://www.path2usa.com/immigration/visitorvisa/requirments.htm ,I found underlined note at the end of webpage as "If your passport expires within the next 6 - 12 months It is advised to obtain a new passport prior to purchasing a receipt for a visa interview."
My mother's passport expires on 28th April-2009 & just today I purchased the receipt (to attend my sister's convocation program in May-2008) for the visa interview without checking the expiry date of passport...
Can this create problem while getting visa ??
I assume that it is just the advice given to avoid any problem being faced if passport expires within 6-12 months whereas in my case my mother's passport expires on April-2009 & it is more than 12 months limit considering today's date i.e. 16th February-2008...
I need the clarification regarding my mother's case whether her application may reject or US ambessy would allow my mother to appear for visa interview.
