visitor visa extension

sir,
our I-94 expires on 29thFeb08.we have applied for an extension for 2 months(till 15th MAY08) of stay in USA.Our application receipt date
as intimated by USCIS office is 23 rd Jan 08.Can we stay in USA legally
till first week of MAY08 (beyond original I-94 date) anticipating the approval
or denial from USCIS office and if so will it affect our next visit to USA.
we have multi entry visa for 10 years.
Since we have to take decision whether to leave immediately or till first week of May08 ,we request for your kind reply at the earliest.we have not received any intimation till now about approval/denial

i just want t ask u that if u hv 10 year multiple visa so y r u trying t get extension. better to arrange a ticket to go back and then wait for response from them. i had a very bad experience of this immigirtion departt.so think carefuuly .dont waste ur 10 year m.visa. and plz. read my case of deportation with parole and reply m if u can in page no 2 of this disscussion forum. best wishes.
