VISA Fee and application procedure for parents going together for VISA interview

Hi,

I am planning to get my parents to the US and thinking of taking date for visa interview.
Wondering whether is it possible to have a single application (DS156 and DS157) for both my mom and dad. In this case how the Visa application fee needs to be paid?

Am I individually need to pay for my mom and Dad to get a separate MRV receipts or can it be paid together to get a single receipt for both the parents to have a single appointment for an interview.

Please help me understand the procedure for booking a single appointment for both the parents.

You need to pay separate fee for each individual even if they want to appear together for the interview. Only then will the passports be recognized.
Once you get pay the money in HDFC and get receipts, after 2 business days the barcode will be active. You can start filling out the application for one of them and after that you will be allowed to "Add applicants" through the vfs-site. I guess as many as 10 applicants can go together. When you are done adding all the applicants, you will get to see the dates availablity. Once you click on the date, all applicants (2 or more that you add) will get the same timeslot and they can go together when called by the VO at the consulate.
