Dear All,
This is an excellent forum. Iam sure you guys can help us.
We have two questions:

1. Does it matter if the interview is in Hindi/english? My father understands english quite well but sometimes couldnt get hard core accent..2 out of 3 times, they went to english section and once in hindi section..My father did admit that during interviews in English, he had at times trouble understanding interviewer's questions..But, my apprehension is that hindi section -since it's run by desis- might turn out more tricky than what it seems..What do you guys think???

2. We are in a big fix regarding should we contact senator this time??? Opinion seems to be divided on this..some people think it may really help as visa is rejected thrice and that's the only hope..others tell me that it may hurt even more as decision solely rests upon visa officer and they might get irritated with senator thing..

We would like to believe that our circumstances have changed since the last time they applied for visa ( which was in early 2005)..At that time, my bro was on student visa and visa officer could not find his information in her computer..it was just a bad day..besides, I was in Canada..my father showed himself retired and working only part time..Also, till then, they hadnt visited any country outside India. I guess the fact that both their children are in North America and they are retired went against them plus the fact that their visa was once rejected earlier
Now , my bro is on H1 working for a reputed organization..my parents have now visited Canada and gone back, my father will now show working as senior consultant with govt of India...
We want to put our best foot forward this time and dont want to leave any stone unturned..
But, we are still very apprehensive..I mean still the main problem ( both children out of India) remains and three rejections are behind them...

Please give your inputs dear friends..

Hi davvy75

U said that ur father is retired in the last interview and now he is going to show that he is working for the government. How can this be possible? How will he show that?

Yes, he retired as Chief Engineer from state govt in the year 2002. Now, he works as senior consultant with govt of India wherein he travels to different states to inspect projects..it's not a full time position, but he remains quite busy with these projects.
Iam sorry I was not clear earlier..
Thanks

One of my friend has similar situation. His parent's visa got rejected 4 times.
Then, his mom applied alone and she got it.
So, try doing that way as well.
Good luck.
ALso, I heard that there is new visa category for parents, where they are issued visa for 6 months. Try investigating on that as well.

Thanks for the reply hshah..Ya, we are also thinking about this..I mean either father/mother applying for visa alone..
There are so many if's that it's getting very confusing..
