I'm sure you will find my case ironic, amusing and might even feel sorry for me.

I am studying in the US for last 3 years on an F1 visa. A year ago I came back to India. I introduced my girlfriend of 7 years to my parents and they liked here. Infact they were ready for a marriage and thats when ASTROLOGY played foul. All astrologers said that if I married her, I would die in 3 months. I DID marry her without their knowledge and its been 7 months already. She came here on an F2 visa and life is going fine for us.... err. was...
Now my parents want to come visit :).

They will fill the D156 form and all they need from me is my I20.Will the consulate review my records and tell them that I am married? I desperately need a certain answer. Is there any way that I can conceal this fact till they come to the US and tell them personally?

I tried emailing and asking the folks at the consulate but they don't seem to understand my questions.
Please Help

That is really tough!

I don't know if the embassy people will tell your parents that you are married...I mean they hardly have time to look at people's papers....but yeah, it could be a problem if they were to ask your parents who is in the US and they say our son...next question "is he married?'...no he's single.....(you see where I'm headed?)

Two options: a. Either you call your parents and tell them all...
b. Get them to postpone their trip till you can make a trip to India and break the news to them personally!

Don't blame the embassy people for not responding...as far as they are concerned you are a nut job!! :D (no offense meant)

Good luck and let us know what happened...
