Hi,
I have got business visa for 1 year multiple entry valid from June 2004 to June 2005. I went to US for a business meeting for 2 weeks in July 2004.

The visa type on my passport looks like this.

Visa Type /Class
R B1/B2

And the annotation is blank.

My wife is working in US on L1 visa since 30th August 2004.

MY QUESTION IS
Is my visa a business visa or a visitor visa? And if it is a visitor visa, can I go to US to stay with my wife for 4-5 months on this visa?

Thanks,
Gaurav.

so if you applied the visa for business purpose it should be B1 ( even if it says B1/B2)
now if you want to visiti usa on the same visa , means the purpose for visit is Business and not personal.
if you can get some official reason to travel on the same visa that should be ok to use and if not , then you should seek another visa with the purpose of Travel.
( send an email or talk to Conuslate probaly there could be a way to use existing visa)
