My in-laws got a 1-yr visa from Chennai.
The document list on path2usa has been very helpful. However, I think they should probably add a few more things in there.

For example, if the son-in-law is sponsoring, copies of the passport and green card of the daughter are also necessary. (I found this from another friend.)
We have also attached a copy of our marriage certificate.

The documents we've attached that are not on the path2usa list:
1. copy of my wife's passport. (I am the sponsor)
2. copy of my wife's green card
3. marriage certificate
4. copy of our apt lease and a recent electricity statement
5. My birth cert. (Unnecessary, I think.)

Good luck, future applicants and sponsors! :)

Congratulations !

There is no rule or time limit , a valid visa holder can start any time before the expiry of the visa.

I would request you to please take a momment and update this information , (folowing url)
