Company transition - Weekend status ?

Hi All,

I'm planning to join the new company on Monday (Feb 18th) and my last working day in the current company would be Friday (Feb 15th). So what would be my status for the two days in between this transition i.e on saturday and sunday. (For Feb16th,Feb 17th) ? Will I be out of status for these two days? I understand it is not illegal to be out of status in such cases but just to be on safer side....Is there any way that I can avoid this running out of status?

Yes technically you will be out of status for two days i.e. your are on H1 or L1but not working with that company anymore but this doesn't matter at all. I guess the most important question should be about your insurance during these 2 days.

I was also having these questions when I left my job, so i checked with insurance and they said you will be covered for the whole month and for 2nd issue I resigned on Monday and joined new company on Tuesday.
