I will like to know, what is the best contraceptive method in US. actually, I am coming with my family to US for long term. But in india I was using the regular method to avoid pregnancy like condoms. will this wa y be a good one in US as well or some other better ways are available.

If using this regular way of condom is good... then, how abt. carrying it from india... or should this be not carried in our luggage... do we get this easily in US in regular stores or in pharmacy... if so any big cost difference is there... pls. help me on this at the earliest...

thanks

Dude before coming here if your family go with coper tee or LOOP then it will help you for 3 years its very best pracitice in world. So my suggsion is go with loop.If you wanna go with KS you will end up with your whole salary in buying rubbers here, and also its not advisable for long period.Srtictly speaking go for loop.

thanks kang,

but I am not interested in coper tee, as both my self & my wife are not comfortable using that... as i have heard stories of ladies, suffering after some years using that... so i have not planned using that either in india or anywhere... also the thing is we are moving to US in another weeks time.. so no enough time for putting that as well...so if we carry rubber from here... is that going to be a problem in baggage checking in airports...

Go to walmart or walgreen sites and check for rates for your rubbers then decided to bring it or not.I think its mess to bring so many rubbers(i am not sure)with your lugguage, but your wish.

Rubbers are available in Walmart starting 4$, going up to 10$ for a ten-pack
(thats slightly higher than what you pay for it in India). Don't fall for the online fly-by-night dealers who sell rubbers.

For the pill (equivalent of Loette in India) a prescription is required from the doctor. So every time your wife runs out of pills, you will need to get a prescription from the doc (because Indian doc prescriptions are not honored in pharmacies) -- unless your doctor has given refill instructions on the prescription.

Here you'll get different (more variety) of rubbers, and believe it or not, Durex that is sold here is made in India (from their Tamil Nadu factory)

Good brands here are Durex, Trojan, and a few more. Cost in India is approx 80 Rs. for a ten-pack, and same one will cost you $6-7 max in Walmart. So yes, they are twice the price. But it is up to you to decide what to bring along. The difference is just about 2-3$!

Also, I dont think there is any restriction on bringing rubbers thru your luggage. It is not a prescription drug, or not on their prohibited list. (never tried though)

Loop or coper tee are not always suitables for all woman. For some it's good for some it's irritating. I heard some of them would have minor side effects viz., prolonged mensuration, excess bleeding for some, irregular cycle etc., If this is not your choice, don't like condoms, then try Today (is a Non Oxyinal tablets insertives) from India which are bit expensive then condoms. These are also avbl over the counter in any stores in US with different name. I used it for atleast 6 years, it's was just fine. To bring them to India, better have medical receipts just in case if enquired.

Good luck.
