Hi Murali,

I am currently staying in Jersey City, NJ for about 2 years on H1-B visa.
My wife is on H4 and is pregnant.
I want to bring my Mother only to US on visitor Visa.
My Mother is illiterate and HouseWife. My father is retired.
My mother can speak Telugu, marathi and hindi and will go to Mumbai consulate.

She doesn't have any properties on her name. She has jewelery and Bank account(not much balance)
My GrandMother stays with my Mom and she is aged and ill.
My younger brother is married and had his kid very recently. He also stays with my Mom.

I need help/suggestions for below points:
1) She is illeterate. Cannot read and write. Will this create any problems during Interview Process. (Note that she can speak Hindi/Marathi/Telugu)
2) I doubt whether she will be able to tell my USA address and my employment details properly. She is not versed with english words like software engineer etc.. any suggestions?
3) Is only Affidavit enough to pove the Family Ties. (My Father will not be travelling. My grandMother is aged and ill.)
4) She doesn't have much balance in Bank account neither my father. My income is the only income in my family. My brother's income has just started but is not that high. Will this create any problems?
5) Any tips/suggestions appreciated.

1. I dont see any problem becuse she can not read or write.
2. Write a cover letter to consulate explaining her situation of not being able to communicate well. that may help in this type of situation.
3. Yes, although the affidavit is not a must , but better to produce.
4. Her bank balance is not important.
5. Do some home work and read other experiences that will help and get you tips :
