Hi...
I am a international student in USA on an F1 visa. I was planning to graduate in summer 2004 initially and even applied for my optional practical training which starts on 8th September. But due to certain last minute changes I could not defend my thesis. Now, I would be defending and submitting my thesis by 18th September as I have to start my job by 20th September. Hence, I am not sure if I have to register for fall semester to maintain my status. My graduate college says I don't have to but the office for international students that deals with immigration issues says I might have to. If I do register I have to pay around $1500. So, I would really appreciate if anyone could give me any kind of insight on this matter.
Thanks for your time.
