I am a H1B visa holder and I came here on 26th December 2006. Employed since 1st Feb, 2007. My family dependant came here during April 2007.

Since I am employed during Feb 2007, I am going to file my INCOME TAX for the first time in Jan 2008. I need to apply for ITIN for my family dependants in order to get tax excemption.

1.Is it possible to apply for ITIN for dependants prior to filing my FIRST Income TAX?
2.Is it possible to claim tax exception for 2007 year after filling income tax and got ITIN in 2008?
3.If not, How will I get tax excemption for my family dependants?
