To all Who are experienced and seniors in this forum.
I have H1B stamping next month in chennai. Please let me know your experience for h1b stamping at chennai for masters in science (cmputer science) through distance education.
Do they raise any questions for the distance education or it is accepted.
Thanks

Hi,
As far as i know, there is no point whether ur studies in distance or regular. But i think, the area of study should be relevant. Then, you should have proper docs from your employer and experience in the technology inwhich you are going to work nor working.
regards
scott.

Just an educated guess... I doubt if the consulate would recognize Masters through distance program. I say this because most US universities do not recognize such programs.
Most likely, they might go by your next highest degree - bachelors.
Simran or Murali may have a better idea.
Cheers

How many years of experience you guys have. I did my BCOM and got nearly 10 years of experience out of which 3 years worked abroad.
VISA OFFICER told me the first thing that "you are educationally not qualified for VISA and then looked into my experience certificates and granted me visa". So if one didnt have 16 years of relevant experience, then for every year that is lost you should have 3-4 years of experience in IT. I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THIS BUT THATS WHAT FEW OF MY FRIENDS TOLD.
Be brave and answer the questions calmly and politely. That should help you.

My stamping in chennai consulate. I know based on Educational evaluation and getting H1B apporval from INS there is no problem. But I want to be sure what questions can a VO ask. In past how did the VO's responded to such degree's?
