First I would like to thank administrator for making such a great forum,
it's really helpful for me to prepare my family for interview.

I am on student visa and graduating in dec'07, I invite my parents and brother to attend my grad.

Questions asked:
-why are you going to usa?
-what is your son (me) doing? (education)
-which University?
-How many children ? ( we are two brothers)

that's it. vo saw my invitation letter from school, did something in computer and told my parents that he is granting them visa but LAW DOES NOT PERMIT TO GIVE VISA TO MY BROTHER.

Need some advice, is any one can explain me why this happened? is there any law for minors? for not getting visa.(my brother is 15 year old)

should I reapply for my brother's visa again?

any comments or advice will be really appreciated.

Thanks

This is a common situation, difficult to get visa for younger people.
I believe your brother had all documents like an approved leave letter from his school / Job and a compelling reason to come back.
He can try again with better preparation , read and search in this forum for similar posting, you will find good info from others experiences.

Thanks Murali for your advice, I really appreciate it.
Yes they have all the documents, letter from school and have good reason to come back because of board exam in march'08, but they did not ask for anything and they mentioned the word "LAW" that make my parents give up right away.

I will search for similar post. I think will reply for his Visa.
Thanks again.

It's indeed amazing to see such a remark for your brother's visa.

Of course, you should definitely re-apply, but with a little research.
Consult an immigration attorney and see what he/she tells you, it'll be worth the couple of hundred bucks fee and save you some frustration later on.

If everything on your side is crystal clear, I would want to get AMCON to clarify about the remark.

Fax to your local representative or senator and ask for their help. It's election time, so they'll be all ears!

I personally know quite a few very young people who got visas. A few of them were even single young girls, where the probability of them getting married in US and settling down here was very high. So there's NO law that says not to give visa.

Good luck.

Hey Googled,

"It's election time, so they'll be all ears!" don't try to count on that. I don't think they care about it. If they are not comfortable they deny. Thats it. No sympathy or no external factors(like in this case, elections stuff). You know they have rejected a CM: cool:

I agree on the rest of our suggetion. cool..
