First name & middle name

I have mentioned my name as following in the passport
Surename : magidi
Given name : Veera babu (there is a space between the two names)

Now, when I have to present my full name in US, what would be by first and last names.Can I mention my first and last names as "Babu" and "magidi"?
I mean, Can I pick up the second word from the "given name" mentioned in the passport as my first name?

I have no problem to go a head with "veera" as my first name but still interested to know,need your suggestions....:)
