Can I apply for L1 from the curr.employer after recieving approval notice for h1

Hi Experts,


I applied for H1B petition in this quota and have got it approved . I am waiting for my approval notice .

My current employer wants me to apply for L1 . And now I just dunt want to reveal this to my current employer about my H1B petition with some other employer .

So would it be fine if I apply for an L1 from my current employer even though my H1B is underprocess.

But my priority would always be H1B . So would an L1 petition cause any harm to the H1b petition.



Please help me in this regards.

State personal reasons and stay away from L1 processing.

You cannot have both H1 and L1. Choose and act accordingly.

Hi Mohan & Prakash,


Thanks alot for your replies . And I would better state a personal reason and will stay away.


Now I have another doubt .

My employer says they have recvd the approval notice and would be sending it across to me soon.

And on top of that the status of the application is : Notice returned as undeliverable

they say that we have recved it and nothing to worry as they have spoken to the USCIS and they will take care of it.


So my following 3 conserns are :

1) Can USCIS website show an old/wrong status for long ( around a month )
2) Are the other ppl in the community also waiting to get the approval notice from the employer ( which has been successfully delivered with Employers)
3) How do I cross verify whether my employer has really recvd or not.


Would be really thankful for your expert inputs on the same.

If your employer has got your papers, then ask him to send it to you or atleast the softcopy of the document, that would be a proof enough.
