Booking Visa interview dates from abroad

Hi Friends,

I had applied for H1B and my petition has been approved.

My current employment required me to travel to australia.

Kindly tell me the procedure for booking interview dates in chennai consulate from here..

Please tell me buddies..

You have to do it online from https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/Home.aspx which can be done from anywhere.

May i ask you... if i could send someone for paying the hdfc fees and giving me the barcode number.....is that allowed ?? or do they expect the same person to pay the fees...

You can ask anyone to do that on your behalf. They will need to carry copy of your passport to book VISA appointment. Also it takes 2 business days to get that receipt code activated after the fees are submitted in HDFC bank

Yes, anyone can do it for you. All he need to do is pay 4522/- alongwith copy of your passport. The barcode gets activated after 2 days.

Hi Mohan & halo3 ,

Thank you both very much for helping me ...

in one website... it was mentioned that i need to fill up form ds157/ds-156 and then book the appoinment through VFS...

Also it was mentioned that my parents cannot pay cash....they can only pay through DD...


Hence i really wanted to ask you guys...

This forum has been so helpful...
Once i go through the full cycle...i am also very eager to give back to people who have so many questions like me...:-)

Just the copy your passport .

Pay the fee in cash at hdfc bank .

DS 156 & DS 157 are not required at the time to taking of hdfc recepits
