My in-laws got the VISA on 29th. Just 2 usual questions were asked.
In my case my H1(with the previous employer) was expired on Dec 13, 2003 and H1 was pending(2 RFEs issued) for the last 10 mnths with the new employer. I attached the H1 Receipt Notice(pending).
So, looks like you don't need to worry if you dont have the approved H1 or if you dont have the latest VISA stamp in the passport, all the best...
