Last name Spelling mistakes

Hello,

I need some advice/help regarding a mispelt last name.I am planning to bring my mother over to US for my delivery.Now,my mother has her last name(my father's) spelt wrong.The first letter should be a C but she has a S instead.In my passport also my father's name is spelt wrong but me and my mother's don't match.so its like three different last names now.Will this cause problems if she appears for interview without any of us changing the names?She has not recieved her passport yet but just the passport information.Is it possible that she could get her last name changed before the passport is issued to her? If so could you please post the procedures for it?I would really appreciate if someone could share some info regarding this as i have very little time left to schedule an appointment amd am planning to bring my mother in oct.

Contact the passport office and there is amedment form for this purpose and that should be fixed.
Otherwise if this can't be fixed prepare a afidavit and take it to the consulate during the interview, in case required. I dont see this is as a problem.
