Hi,

I was successful in getting H1b stamping on 28 th Aug 07 at the Mumbai consulate.
I was asked only 2 questions:
VO: Which Company will u be working for in the US?

VO: Where will you be staying.
My interview lasted for only 5 minutes. She only asked me for my original Form-1797 besides the passport and HDFC fee receipt.

Before I went for my interview I had asked my employer if i cud take my wife and daughter along for H4 along with me. He said it was not the right time.
Once I got my H1 ,I asked him the same but he said that it would be better for me first to go to US and start working then after 2 months i shud send my pay stubs and bank details to my wife for H4.
Since my daughter is small -8months i had wanted her and my wife to accompany me or follow soon.

Kindly let me know if it's a better idea to wait till then or not.

your employer is manipulative and shows little concern for your family, you have to take care of your family, I would have strongly adviced your wife and kid to go with you for the visa stamping.

The way you got your visa it would have been a cakewalk for your wife and kid too to get the visa. Now your wife will need more supporting docs.

So don't worry about your employer now, get an appointment for your family too before you go to usa.
