VISA B-2 Question

A lady friend who send me a copy of her visa from Russia and the dates of issue
and expiration don't make sense to me.
I want to know if this is correct:
The issue date is 12.04.04 and the expiration date is 12.08.04.
How could the issue date be 12.04.04? If that date is still in the future?
Does this mean that this visa is not valid?

Yes, what you say is logical and issue date cant be future date.

I found out the Russian date method is different than from ours.
So it is correct and the first number is the day, second number is
the month and the last one is the year. So it checks out okay.
